Gaines' Marina has been serving boaters since 1928.
In May of 1996 Denis Richard purchased the marina and undertook a
major expansion, determined to keep Gaines Marina's reputation as
being one of the truly outstanding marinas on Lake Champlain.
The parking lot was widened nearly doubling the area for cars and
for boat storage during the winter months.
A new building was erected beside the fuel dock as the main office,
boat supplies store, refreshment center and customs office.
New washrooms and showers were installed and the old docks were
replaced and additional ones were added.
Gaines Marina has so much to offer both the boating traveler and
those searching for summer dockage. Located close to the Canadian
border at the mouth of the Richelieu River, it is at the gateway to
the USA and Canada.
For Canadians it is an prime location. After crossing the border by
car it's just a few minutes more to your dock. You can now proceed
south by boat without the hassles of crossing the border by boat.
